Experience & Background
Susan joined Family Services in 2014 as a Prevention Educator with Ulster Prevention Council. Since then, she has taken on increasing responsibility, serving as Prevention Education Coordinator before stepping into her current role as Director.
Today, she oversees a team of prevention educators and the delivery of evidence-based curriculum that reaches more than 6,000 students annually. Her work ensures that programs are consistent, effective, and aligned with the needs of the community.
Approach to Prevention
Susan believes in the power of early prevention and the importance of meeting students where they are. Her approach centers on creating safe, supportive learning environments where young people can build confidence, develop life skills, and make informed decisions.
She is also a strong advocate for collaboration, working to strengthen partnerships and coalitions that bring communities together around a shared goal: reducing harm and improving overall health.
Community Impact
Through her leadership, UPC continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact across Ulster County. Susan’s work helps connect schools, families, and community partners to resources and programs that support long-term well-being.
